Warm Bacon Coleslaw Add onion and saute for 5 minutes. add chopped garlic and saute until onions are soft but not caramelized, approximately 3 more minutes. add vinegar, sugar, mustard, chili powder, celery seed, salt and pepper to pan and mix well. add cabbage, toss well and cook for 5 7 minutes til desired tenderness. Warm Bacon Coleslaw In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp, remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel to drain; crumble the bacon to add before serving. remove all but 1 tablespoon of the bacon fat from the skillet. to the skillet, add the onion and cook over medium heat until softened; about 2 minutes.
