Lms crab no.13065 southbound at top field, haworth on 4th march 2017 [kwvr]. 13065 was built at crewe in 1927. br motive power depot allocations since 1948. it was withdrawn from service at birkenhead in 1966 and sold to woodham brothers scrapyard at barry where it arrived in june 1967. it remained there until april 1978. in the mid 1970s a group based at steamport at southport sought to raise funds to purchase 42765. Lms hughes 13065 (crab) 42765 has been restored to working order on the east lancs railway and, following a further heavy overhaul, returned to service in 2014 in crimson lake livery numbered 13065 (the number the engine had on registration). this makes the east lancashire railway's "crab" the last working steam engine of its kind.
