I am replacing the coolant bypass valve (leaking) and the "tee" connector in the radiator hose (broken) of a 2006 saab 9 5 (2.3t engine). the diagram below (reposted by esaabparts ) seems to indicate that two hoses go from the "tee" connector (labeled "16") to the coolant bypass valve (just under the "19" label).

Step 21 remove the lower bolt for the water pump in the timing cover and engine block. step 22 place a container under the car and connect a hose to the water pump drain plug. open the plug to drain the coolant. step 23 mark the direction of rotation, release the belt tensioner using a ratchet and remove the belt.
