The name "just jane" had appeared on the starboard side soon after nx611’s arrival at east kirkby, applied as a result of an raf recruitment exercise and featured the nose art that had adorned jb138, a wartime 61 squadron lancaster. the wartime nose art proved popular, so was re applied in the more traditional location on the port side.
