02 Lb7 Major Coolant Leak From Driver Rear Of Engine Please Help Parts all together was about $480. the bell housing was the most expensive. my bell housing was cracked right below the turbo on the drivers side. i couldn't see the crack unless i had a mirror & it would leak coolant even when the engine was not running. it's a pain in the ass job as the transmission has to come out as well as a lot of other crap. I have a 2002 lb7 that has a major leak coming from the rear drivers side of the engine. it just started last night & its literally pissing coolant out. if i top off the coolant it will leak even when the truck is off. it gets worse when i start it. it looks like its coming from below the turbo or maybe even from the egr up pipe?.
02 Lb7 Major Coolant Leak From Driver Rear Of Engine Please Help 2002 lb7 mysterious coolant leak. help. ok so my lb7 had the injectors, head gaskets, water pump, and a few other things done to it around 180,000 miles in january of this year (2015). it has almost 194,000 miles on it now. about a month ago i drove to the bar and noticed it had a tiny wet spot under the front of the engine on the ground. This leak will leave coolant down the front of the engine. the highest place i've tracked it to is the little valley to the lower left of the thermostat housing to the left behind the oil fill tube. i had already replaced the small rubber hose located in this area. the coolant appears to be pooling here and running down the front of the engine. Filled it up with coolant and took it for a drive. truck has a slight drip from the rear driver side of the engine, up near the oil cooler. i pulled the oil cooler off and did the seals in everything. i just got it back together and same problem. i was very careful to not damage or pinch any seals.
